A Holiday Curation... with Katy Hessel

Dancer and Art historian and author of The Story of Art Without Men, Katy Hessel, shares her wishlist!

Home or away for the holiday season?
"Always home. It wouldn't be Christmas Day without a walk on Hampstead Heath "

Most memorable show or exhibition you've seen in 2024?
"This year I travelled to Australia for the first time, where I was introduced to so many new artworks, and had my sense of art history overturned. Among my favourite artworks were those by First Nations artists. I'm very excited that the great Emily Kam Kngwarreye will show at Tate Modern in 2025."

What work of art made you see things differently?
"Leonora Carrington's The Giantess. As recently discussed on my podcast, The Great Women Artists."
